Antony and the Johnsons covers Beyoncé

I’m sure we’ve all come across the billions of Serious Bands covering Pop Artists, and it’s so ironic, ohmygawd LOL! Did you hear that Talented Band cover “I Kissed a Girl” acoustic? They’re not even girls, they’re boys OF COURSE THEY’D LIKE KISSING GIRLS!

But now here comes Antony and the Johnsons covering Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love,” and holy crap. Draped in angelic light and taking advantage of a beautiful orchestra, Antony emotes the hell out of the chart-topper as he’s wont to do, and that thunderous applause at the song’s end is legitimate and deserved. Seriously, go Antony. [via Pitchfork]

  • Jon! Have you seen I fell in love with a dead boy with the Metropolis orchestra? Its pretty fantastic.

I hadn’t, but I just went and found it on YouTube. And then proceeded to download the entire concert in MP3. His songs with an orchestra are really something else.

    Thanks for the rec!
