Phenomenal Video Saturday: There Will Be Fireworks

I’ve written about There Will Be Fireworks before, and how much of a fan I am of the band’s Explosions In The Sky meets every Scottish band ever sound, though it gives me sadface that they only have one, self-titled album.

But holy tantalizing previews of new songs, Batman, it’s a tantalizing preview of a new song! In this video, shot by They Shoot Music, Don’t They? the band performs a new track called “Ash Wednesday.” It’s hard to say how the song will turn out as recorded, given the quiet nature of the video and the bombastic nature of the band’s past efforts. As it is now, though, it’s a sad, pretty folk-type song with a bunch of unorthodox instrumentation. So far, so good. Let’s see it recorded, now, fellas.
