Jim Kroft prepares release of new album, offers "Let Go" as free mp3

Got some news and a great new mp3 coming your way; couldn’t be a better day! The weather is ridiculous(ly nice), so it’s fitting we have some information regarding Jim Kroft’s predominantly sunny (sounding) forthcoming effort, Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. The album (note the slight change from a previous post) will drop May 3, available at all online stores, and for you lucky overseas folks, Kroft will be playing record release shows in London and Berlin! The London show is April 29 at The Water Rats in Kings Cross (preorder) and the Berlin show is May 7 at Cafe Zapata.

Kroft is kindly offering Knox Road (and the rest of you!) a new mp3 off the album, “Let Go” (one of my favorites). The song is a stirring, rocking success with Kroft’s high tenor in full force and sweeping strings alongside pulsating acoustic and electric guitar. It’s soooo British. And good.

Also, the notion of taking any time off before a follow-up record is heresy to Kroft, as he’s already working on one at Urchin Studios in East London, owned by Strokes producer Gordon Raphael. Six of the twelve tracks expected to be on the follow-up have been recorded, so certainly check back here for more information.
