I’m leaving and I’m not coming back (for about a month)

So despite what you may think, we here at Knox Road are real people with real lives that exist outside the confines of www.KnoxRoad.com (shocking, no?). As a real human, with real emotions and real dreams and real aspirations, I am taking a very real adventure of a lifetime. No, I’m not taking a note from Garfield up there and hanging out at the beach (what a beach bum, that Garfield). For the next month or so, I’ll be at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota shooting photos for a multimedia documentary project that will hopefully result in great memories, a better portfolio and maybe even a real person job. What I will not be doing in that time is blogging here at Knox Road.

Now I know my snarky posts about lo-fi bands and movie trailers will be sorely missed, but Lee, Jon and every other Friday, Abby, will have to fill my shoes for the time being. By the time August rolls around, I’ll be back here giving you more music to love or hate or think indifferently about (depending on how much you like the music Lee posts, probably). Just as Garfield loves lasagna and making snide comments, I love writing about music here, so this hurts me probably the most. But I’ll leave you guys for the time being with an appropriately sad and smooth track from the smoothest of musicians, Mr. Eagle-Eye Cherry.

Eagle-Eye Cherry – “Save Tonight” [MP3]

your blog is amazing! not only do you deliver great music, you also write great reviews to read! I hope you have the best of times doing this project of yours, and I’m sure t will be a knox-out, that’s what happens when you do things with passion, so… best of lucks for you, and thank you for the music.

  • The fact that you’ve posted this song as a farewell has given me a lot to think about in your absence. until you come back then!
