Beck covers more Velvet Underground: “I’m Waiting For The Man”

In Beck’s new “Record Club” project, he’s recording a bunch of covers with other musicians and stuff. His goal is to lay down albums worth of music in a short period of time. His first project is the Velvet Underground and the latest track is the infectious “I’m Waiting For The Man” (he already did “Sunday Morning”).

Beck opted to replace most of the steady rhythm in the song with some kind of weird experimental string action. It’s all jambly and strumbly and things that the original is not. Which is why I like it. I can’t wait for his version of “Heroin.” Although, it’ll probably be a real “downer.” Ha! Get it? (eeeessh…)
