D.C.’s own crazy weirdo Edie Sedgwick (who we first talked about way back when) is coming to Sonar in Baltimore to channel the spirit of the real Edie Sedgwick and sing songs named after celebrities. Saturday: Black Kids & Mates of State, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti & Vivan Girls
Everybody’s favorite/least favorite band of 2008 Black Kids is going to be at 9:30 Club with Mates of State. They’re co-headlining because Mates of State are I guess lesser known (?) which balances out Black Kids having, you know, that one song about dancing. Cute Floridian band Sunbears! is opening. Meanwhile, Vivian Girls will be up at the Ottobar in Baltimore opening for Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti. The combination of Vivian Girls’ lo-fi passive aggressive punk with the bizarre art that flows from Ariel Pink’s mind will make for a true hipster show. Seriously, it’s gonna be off the chain.
