Andrew Bird is playing (with like a thousand other artists – notables include Tortoise and Ted Leo) at the Black Cat in D.C. January 19, the night before his album Noble Beast is released!

Also, Frightened Rabbit, whose album The Midnight Organ Fight was number four on my top five albums of 2008, is playing back to back shows in the area, first January 19 at The Rock and Roll Hotel in D.C., and then (for those who are going to Andrew Bird) at the Talking Head club in Baltimore, January 20.
