[MP3] Scattered Trees: “Four Days Straight”

Two Roll Call Records artists in a row (plus a mention on our Tumblr)! Must be some sort of…record. “Four Days Straight” was recently released as a single, with a b-side cover of John Lennon’s “Instant Karma”. Word on the street is that The Album Leaf is finishing up a little remix of it, which is awesome because a) I love The Album Leaf b) this song rocks c) Trees need their leaves.

This post is pathetic.

Needless to say, I’ve become a quick fan of Scattered Trees and their immediately accessible sound. Even though the childhood friends are from the Chicago area, they have a distinctly brit-pop vibe. The electric guitar creates an arena-rock atmosphere, yet the crew is able to mix in the odd harmony, hand claps, and interspersed percussion.

Also, a documentary is apparently in the works to describe the circumstances of how their forthcoming album, Sympathy, came together after the Scattered Trees members spent some time apart. Cool idea. See the trailer after the jump.
