Billy Corgan reignites feud with Pavement if anybody still cares

Hey remember back in 1994 when Pavement released the song “Range Life” on their superb album Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain? And remember how the lyrics “Out on tour with the Smashing Pumpkins / Nature kids, (I)they don’t have a function / I don’t understand what they mean / And I could really give a fuck” REALLY riled up Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan? Nope. I don’t either. I believe that was a solid 16 years ago and, well, who cares?

Well now Corgan has reignited this feud with the band because, of all things, Pavement is sharing a stage with Smashing Pumpkins in Brazil. Corgan, naturally, takes to everybody’s favorite 140 character soap box:

Hmmm, what Billy? I’m sorry, I was busy reorganizing all my Zwan records.

@knoxroad Billy wants so desperately to be paid attention to. Maybe he could marry a british prince or something

Oh Billy. You want so desperately to be paid attention to. But Pavement won this fight long before you went all Axl on everyone.

  • i have fond memories of the early, early 90s, self-effacing corgan. he was so much less of a douchebag. meh.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who reorganized his Zwan records last night. I put mine in order from “bad” to “suck”.

  • I liked some Zwan songs. I just can’t remember them.

I have “Lyric” and “El Sol” in my music library. Maybe those were just the hits though.
