Kathryn Calder has made a name for herself as the keyboardist for super amazing group The New Pornographers, but now is branching out with a new solo career. Calder’s debut album, Are You My Mother?, will feature Neko Case, other members of The New Pornographers and members of Ladyhawk and Frog Eyes. The album’s first single, “Slip Away,” is soft and sweet and features not much beyond gentle percussion and the keys Calder is known for. What’s great is that she actually has a pretty good voice. Promise, the girl shows promise.
