José González's band Junip announces tour dates, offers free MP3

It’s been a long time, hasn’t it? Junip‘s last album, an EP titled Black Refuge, came out in 2006, and since then there has been a single and little to nothing else. Label me a fan of anything José González participates in – the Swede (of Argentinian descent), one of my favorite singer/songwriters, is the front man behind this little rock troupe. Junip is made up of three members (González (guitar, vocals), Elias Araya (drums) and Tobias Winterkorn (organ, moog)) who work together when their schedules permit, but this time around they’re focusing exclusively on the band. They’re planning to release an EP and full length in 2010 after a brief summer tour (with two additional members) that includes dates in the U.S. Get excited! They’re also offering up a new MP3, so check it out below. Wait for the build; the arrangement is gradually layered.
