[MP3] Pigeons: "Tendresse"

Chocolate Bobka and Pitchfork have been calling “Tendresse” by Bronx group Pigeons “one of the most slept on songs of 2009,” which is enough of a statement to warrant a listen, in my book. As it turns out, it is a pretty interesting song. As CB notes, and I happened to notice as well, it sounds very Quentin Tarantino-esque. Sort of like that mysterious “I’m going to leave you for dead in a Texas desert chapel” sound, ya know? At the same time it’s equal parts that lo-fi psych we all grew to love last year.

The track is from the Lunettes 7″ released on Soft Abuse last year. CB also notes that rumor has an LP coming out in the near future, so keep an eye out for more desert murder lo-fi psych to come.
