Ruse of Fools make the best video of the last 10 years (not my words)

Up-and-coming band Ruse of Fools just released a video for their single “The Flood,” and whoa, some guy on their YouTube channel said it was the best video he’s seen in the past 10 years. When I saw that, I chuckled and said — and excuse my language — “that is highly unlikely.”

Well then I watched the video, and I realized it’s hard to say if it’s objectively the best video of the past 10 years, but it’s still really freaking cool. The grayscale animation throws us from one surreal situation to another, ranging from eyebrow-raising to sorta terrifying, all in conjunction with Ruse of Fools’ trippy, reverb-heavy guitars. At points — and this might be the taco salad talking, but hey — I’m hearing some of At The Drive-In’s quieter, effects-ier moments.

You can grab “The Flood” on iTunes.
