Notable Album Release: Sally Seltmann – Heart That’s Pounding

SallySeltmann

Sally Seltmann, best known to me as her now-defunct moniker, New Buffalo, will be releasing a new full-length (and the first under her own name), Heart That’s Pounding, in Spring 2010. There are already quite a few buzzworthy 2010 albums to be excited about, but this one will be near the top of my list. Sticking to my typical sappy (pun half-intended) ways, I say in veracity that Seltmann’s voice melts me. Oh yeah, and I love hand claps, which are on some of her New Buffalo songs as well as the preview song off of Heart That’s Pounding, “Harmony To My Heartbeat”.

I guess I just adore her. She’s one of my go-to artists during late night endeavors; you know, when you’re walking outside in the cold to get somewhere (perhaps mentally) with just your headphones and the streetlights affecting your senses. You become one with your surroundings, turning time into an undying day night dream.

“Waiting for the train,
I can see a face in the distance again.
Got a little dream that’s become a friend
and a reality.”
