Hawksley Workman finally set to release debut 2000 album, For Him and the Girls, in the U.S.

And not only that, he’s also announced a few tour dates in the U.S. as well (his first ones here since 2006!) Americans rejoice! A rocking Canadian, Hawksley Workman has been one of those artists that’s only slightly punctured the surface for me, simply because I haven’t had the opportunity to listen to enough of his material. Hopefully that changes as this U.S. release (due November 17) and tour makes him more accessible (literally.) Listen to the first track off For Him and the Girls below, titled “Maniacs”. It’s delightfully catchy with some John Vanderslice-ish jitters and an intricate, rhythmic-oriented arrangement, full of pulsating guitars and vocal yelps.
