A belated tribute to Landon Pigg

Landon Pigg

With Landon Pigg‘s latest album, The Boy Who Never, dropping a couple weeks ago (September 29,) I realized we’ve never really given him his fair due here on KR. I posted an mp3 from him a while back in preparation for SXSW, titled “Falling in Love in a Coffee Shop”, which has received much fanfare from casual listeners and press alike.

Pigg, from the musically fertile grounds of Nashville, has that smooth voice that so many aspiring musicians wish for and dream about. His jazzy flair gives the mostly pop songs a bit of pizazz – the background is full of horns, strings and keys, making for quite the polished sound. He is currently touring with Erin McCarley (a KR favorite from way back when, and a recent iTunes Mixery victim) – quite the billing if you ask me. So sit back, relax, and enjoy some Landon Pigg on these crisp Autumn days to come; his music suits the aura quite well.
