Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros announce tour dates

A lot of people give Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros an unfair rap. The 11-piece band drives around in a converted school bus and plays music like it’s 1969 all over again. It has all the cult-aspects of The Polyphonic Spree with a more folksy feel. Is that so wrong? I guess I can understand people eschewing the band’s recorded material, but live?? I haven’t read any concert reviews, but I feel like this would be a lot of fun. Especially if it was in a big field or clearing in the woods or something. I mean, it’s not, but wouldn’t that be great? Their first full-length recording, Up From Below is out now on Rough Trade, so go check it out, hmm?

  • Yeah, I’d like to hear a live show review too. I missed them when they came through Chicago. I actually went on the day of the gig and it was sold out! Since then, I’ve heard they’ve been selling out across the country. So, something pretty exciting is going on there, folks! Speak up! xoxo

I can say that they are great live. I saw them on Saturday 21-Nov in Northampton, MA. Lots of fun, lots of energy and the crowd engagement was incredible.

I would say that if you have a chance to see them, definitely go.

Love this band. I’m so sick of the hearing the same music being remade over and over again. These guys have such a unique and original sound. Come visit me in Boston…please!!!
