New Where the Wild Things Are trailer will give you nostalgia, chills

Wheeeeeeee! Trailer number 2 for the upcoming movie adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are, directed by Spike Jonze (Adaptation, Being John Malkovich) and due out October 16th, has just hit the interwebs.

This one doesn’t have the same ohmygodmonsters feel to it, most likely because we’ve already gotten a small taste of footage, but it’s a good trailer in that it expands on the first by hinting at bits of story. And there’s actual dialogue, which is cool.

I’m really hoping the movie holds its wondrous tone and keeps its sentimentality in check. It seems like it could be a seriously good movie if it sticks to its fantasy guns. In related news, my guns are also quite fantastical. They’re the stuff of dreams, I tell ya. *Kisses biceps*
