[MP3s] Your Siren Music Festival Preview

Siren crowd

It’s Thursday, so that means the bestest, hippest, most free music festival of the summer is about to kick off. For those of you at Under A Rock University where you major in not knowing things (zinger!!), the Siren Music Festival is a one-day, two-stage, free show at Coney Island, NY. Home of people eating a million hot dogs very quickly. It’s happening this Saturday at 1 p.m. @ Coney Island.

Now, Siren has a history of both showcasing great bands of today and bands that will be big in about a year. Yeah Yeah Yeahs played in 2002, one year before releasing their debut album. That same year featured The Shins (one year before they blew up with Chutes Too Narrow). The festival has also seen the likes of Liars, The Kills, Modest Mouse, TV on the Radio, The Fiery Furnaces, and M.I.A all before they got huge.

So who knows which bands might jump off the page at this year’s festival. Check out the lineup with MP3s. Oh, and go of course. We’ll all be there.
