Marriage, oh so beautiful

bride

Jamie’s sister is getting married today! You know, sometimes (ONLY sometimes) a music blog takes a back seat. He also doesn’t know I’m writing about this, so I hope he won’t mind, but hey! what’s a blog without some personal stuff eh? Congratulations Jamie family! [image art courtesy of Bambi Cantrell]

My mixtape (which follows a progression of sorts) for his sister would be something along these lines, (though I’ll keep this one much shorter). Time to get allll sappy.

St. Vincent – “Marry Me” [MP3] (from Marry Me)

Patrick Watson – “Luscious Life” [MP3] (from Closer To Paradise)

Metric – “Help I’m Alive” [MP3] (from Fantasies)

Rosie Thomas – “Wedding Day” [MP3] (from When We Were Small) (just go off the song title here, not the lyrics…)

Spoon – “Change My Life” [MP3] (from Love Ways)

Bat For Lashes – “Good Love” [MP3] (from Two Suns)

Death Cab For Cutie – “All is Full of Love” [MP3] (from The Photo Album)

Erin McCarley – “Love, Save The Empty” [MP3] (from Love, Save The Empty) (Good for her for getting the popularity she deserves. I still love her music.)

The Veils – “Advice For Young Mothers To Be” [MP3] (from Nux Vomica) (ha, kidding…?)

Hi! Thanks for the blog about me and my wedding! LOL! Was very surprised, and being a music lover myself, thought Iwould share with you our music tracks…

Too bad you didn’t send your tracks *before* the wedding… ; ) LOL

Our wedding song (you know, the first dance and all that good stuff) was G Love’s “Love”
“In My Life” by the Beatles was my dad’s and my dance, and “I WIll Always love my Momma” was my husband’s dance with his mom.

Other tracks we included on our mix were: Beautiful World by Devo, Lover by Devendra Banhart, Just LIke Heaven and Close To You by The Cure, Uh-Oh Love Comes to Town by the Talking Heads, May This Be Love by Jimi Hendrix, I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend by The Ramones, (Say Hey I Love You) by Michael Franti & Spearhead (one of my four year old daughter’s FAVORITES), Crazy by Gnarles Barkley, Nothing Compares 2 U (Sinead O’Connor) and At Last by Etta James which was basically the song that made me fall in love with him in the first place almost 4 years ago! : )

From one music lover to another, thanks for blogging about me, and take it easy!!
