In Case You Missed It: Week in Review

baby-listening-to-music

In case you were busy diggin’ on the new Grizzly Bear, Phoenix, and countless others, and maybe probably definitely standing in lines at 5 am to grab your tickets to After Last Season, here’s what you missed this week on Knox Road.

Monday:
Susan Boyle returns and Brits love cats. Just, like, in general.
Lee gives us the requisite Memorial Day mix. Included are some strange titles, and some having no relation to memories. Oh well.

Tuesday:
Review Tuesday: Grizzly Bear’s Veckatimest (Jamie)
Review Tuesday: Phoenix’s Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (Lee)
Jon bets Jamie another end of the world with the news of a possible television show based on twitter. Uhhhh…
Jamie then re-ups Jon with this news: Weezer to make custom Snuggies: “Wuggies”. We’re all screwed.
The Dead Weather release a new mp3! But it produces zzzzz’s yet again.
YouTube cute animal trend continues with the Pygmy Jerboa. Makes Jamie 🙂

Wednesday:
New Jay Reatard mp3 is back to the basics and fun.
I’ll stick with Jon’s title: “iLiKETRAiNS makes music, enjoys locomotives”.

Thursday:
Deastro’s Moondagger coming June 2!
After Last Season opening June 5 in a grand total of FOUR theatres!

Friday:
Lisa Hannigan’s voice needs more fanfare, though the Colbert bump should help.
New WHY? album, Eskimo Snow, coming this fall. Less hip-hop, more “song-song”.

Saturday:
Bombadil’s newest, Tarpits and Canyonlands, set for a July 7 release. And we have mp3s for you!

*Pick of the week*
I Guess I’m Floating: “Thursdays and Covers.” Pays homage to the late Jeff Bennett (formerly of Wilco).
