South Park: “Gay Fish (Kanye West Parody)” [MP3]

kanye gay fish

I had no idea A. that there was an MP3 of this and B. that there is a “full version” of the song. This is great. If you haven’t seen the most recent South Park episode yet, you lose. It’s been like four days, where have you been??

South Park – “Gay Fish (Kanye West Parody)” [MP3]

Also, it looks like Kanye responded! In all caps!!

SOUTH PARK MURDERED ME LAST NIGHT AND IT’S PRETTY FUNNY. IT HURTS MY FEELINGS BUT WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM SOUTH PARK! I ACTUALLY HAVE BEEN WORKING ON MY EGO THOUGH. HAVING THE CRAZY EGO IS PLAYED OUT AT THIS POINT IN MY LIFE AND CAREER. I USE TO USE IT TO BUILD UP MY ESTEEM WHEN NOBODY BELIEVED IN ME. NOW THAT PEOPLE DO BELIEVE AND SUPPORT MY MUSIC AND PRODUCTS THE BEST RESPONSE IS THANK YOU INSTEAD OF “I TOLD YOU SO!!!” IT’S COOL TO TALK SHIT WHEN YOU’RE RAPPING BUT NOT IN REAL LIFE. WHEN YOU MEET LITTLE WAYNE IN PERSON HE’S THE NICEST GUY FOR EXAMPLE. I JUST WANNA BE A DOPER PERSON WHICH STARTS WITH ME NOT ALWAYS TELLING PEOPLE HOW DOPE I THINK I AM. I NEED TO JUST GET PAST MYSELF. DROP THE BRAVADO AND JUST MAKE DOPE PRODUCT. EVERYTHING IS NOT THAT SERIOUS. AS LONG AS PEOPLE THINK I ACT LIKE A BITCH THIS TYPE OF SHIT WILL HAPPEN TO ME. I GOT A LONG ROAD AHEAD OF ME TO MAKE PEOPLE BELIEVE I’M NOT ACTUALLY A HUGE DOUCHE BUT I’M UP FOR THE CHALLENGE. I’M SURE THE WRITERS AT SOUTH PARK ARE REALLY NICE PEOPLE IN REAL LIFE. THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO DRAW MY CREW. THAT WAS PRETTY FUNNY ALSO!! I’M SURE THERE’S GRAMMATICAL ERRORS IN THIS… THAT’S HOW YOU KNOW IT’S ME!

For the record, I love fish sticks. [via 2dopeboyz]

Lee and anyone else, do you think that songs, like this joke Kanye tune, prove that making this type of music is more a business than an art?

    Lee Reply:

hey alex…are you talking specifically about “joke” songs? or music in general? (i.e. what “type of music” are you referring to? – I’m a little confused.)

    Lee Reply:

are you asking if it’s just a subtle promo/plug for Kanye?

By “this type of music” I mean the current popular hip hop genre that we hear in clubs and on the radio today.

What does it mean for “this type of music” when South Park can so accurately recreate it?What does it show us about “this type of music”? Is “this type of music” primarily a business?

  • Claire Hoffman

duh. Of course it’s a business. But just because something is a business does not mean it cant be art too. Also, parodies of songs/art etc have been going on forever, what is important is who was the one who thought of it to begin with.

If the original artist is the important one then how can so many rappers (or should I say music companies) get away with ripping that original guy off. When/where does it end?

    Jamie Reply:

This has been going on since music has existed. Classical composers ripped each other off, a lot of Motown artists essentially copy and pasted songs, and the trend continues today. It’s just natural anymore that a lot of music is born from other people’s ideas. Call it “ripping off” call it “flattering imitation.” It’s not good or bad necessarily, just a fact.
