Silversun Pickups are getting all MTV lately. So much so, in fact, that they debuted the video for their newest single, “Panic Switch,” on MTVU. Because those college kids high school kids love bands not on the regular MTV, so they’ll love whatever has “U” attached!
That said, the video is pretty average/boring. “Then why are you wasting my time writing about it,” you ask? “Well,” I say. “I think it captures the essence of the song well, and that essence is different (dancier) than what the Silversun Pickups used to have!” Bullshit answer? The band’s new album, Swoon, will surely be full of the same. Lets just hope MTV doesn’t dig its claws too deep into something good. Swoon is out April 14 on Dangerbird.
