What a weird creation. Lets take some lo-fi electronic beats that make you guess that you are about to listen to a
trip-hop album. Now, insert a voice so jarring that the first time I heard it, I felt a chill go up and down somewhere on my body. Throw in some ambient guitar and talk-rapping and this becomes “Fantasia” by Alex Gladwell.
Please don’t misinterpret that first paragraph. In no way are any of those things bad in music. As a matter of fact, I will go as far as saying that it works well for this album. When you listen to an album, you can determine a lot about the artist that made it. I just decided that Alex Gladwell is one kooky motherfucker. In some situations this might not be desirable…but if you want to listen to something that isn’t at all like anything you have probably heard, we’ve got a winner!
I have not spoken to Alex Gladwell personally, but judging by his email I can tell that he only wants you to listen to a piece of music that he has worked extremely hard on. I can appreciate that in a person, and I will say that he deserves to have his album heard. If you click on the link below, you can have his entire album for free.
