Sticking with the Brooklyn theme on a cold night, I present to you singer/songwriter Ivana XL. Don’t let the name throw you off – she’s not some crazy punk crooner – actually quite the opposite. Ivana’s voice is haunting with a Regina Spektor-like ting (but don’t get caught up in the whole comparison thing, because she definitely has her own low-key style). You get a bluesy classical charm from her songs mixed with a splash of modern feel. Fans of Azure Ray, enjoy. You can pick up her seven song EP on MySpace, or download the digital version here.
