We received exciting news from the folks over at Amie Street. They just announced the early release of the new Coconut Records album, Davy, a week before its broader release! Check it out, and go get yourself a copy. Here’s the press release from Amie Street:

“New York, NY, January 13, 2009 – AmieStreet.com announced today the pre-release of Coconut Records’s highly-anticipated new album, Davy, exclusively on AmieStreet.com.

Davy is the follow up to Coconut Records’ 2007 album, Nighttiming, which scanned 25,000 digital album copies and found placement in The OC, Spiderman 3, Cloverfield, and numerous commercials.

The new album from Jason Schwartzman, ex-Phantom Planet drummer and actor, is available one week before its general distribution.

“Before we even finished the first album we were getting excited about the second,” said Schwartzman. “So it’s a great opportunity to be able to get the new album out to fans as early as we could.”

In December 2008, Coconut Records released the first single from Davy as part of AmieStreet.com’s Download to Make a Difference program, making “Microphone” available for free to benefit The Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation.”

When “Microphone” was released on Amie Street, Knox Road directed readers over there for the free download and benefit. You can see that post here.
